Brock Rigsby

Vice President & Chief of Staff

Brock Rigsby is very excited to be serving as your Vice President and Chief of Staff! Brock was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas and is a rising sophomore Psychology/French Studies major with a minor in Business Administration here at SMU. His favorite things on campus include being in The Mob and late nights with friends at Fondy (Fondren Library) or in the SFL (Second Floor Lounge), as well as participating in VS Trivia Nights. Be sure to get to know your RA and other Commons leaders, and to enjoy a lunch or two on Dallas Hall Lawn in the fall or spring. Feel free to reach out to Brock if he can help you in any way!

Paola Thomas

Vice President - Events

Paola was born in Monterrey, Mexico, but have been a proud Texan for 14 years now. As a part of the Class of 2022 and Pre-law Scholar, she will be triple majoring in Political Science, Economics, and Public Policy. Paola is Virginia-Snider’s Peer Academic Leader as well as VP of Programming, and outside of VS I’m involved in the Hilltop Scholars program, Alpha Phi Omega, and Phi Alpha Delta at SMU. Her favorite VS tradition has to be VieSta. It’s such a fun celebration that gets everybody on campus involved, and I’m so excited to plan our next one! My advice to incoming freshman is to remain genuine and positive. Kindness goes a long way and will always be remembered and rewarded.

Lizzie Fehr

Director of Residential Advocacy

Lizzie is your Director of Residential Advocacy. She was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and is a rising sophomore this year. Currently, she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish and Business Administration. She is currently involved in Commons Council as well as supporting our basketball team as a member of The Mob. Lizzie loves to hike, fly-fish, and travel around the world so if you’re interested, she would love to chat with you! Her favorite VS traditions are VieSta, Trivia Night and Dr. Ann’s Sunday Night Snacks. Lizzie’s piece of advice to incoming students is to try and involve yourself in as many possible things so you can meet new people and enjoy what SMU has to offer.

Brooke Weber

Director of Communication

Brooke is a sophomore from McKinney Texas, majoring in Advertising with double minors in photography and graphic design. On campus, she is involved with Program Council, Ad club and Alpha phi omega. She loves doing yoga, exercising and Açaí bowls! Her favorite VS tradition is Sunday night snacks, a great wait to chill out and get to know your fellow VSer’s ! Her advice for incoming freshman is “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”, “There are going to be things that your not sure about but what is there to lose go for it!”

Alex DeTrempe

Director of Intramurals

Alex is from the north shore of Chicago (You will probably see him in Cubs gear at some point every week). He is a rising sophomore and studying electrical engineering and minoring in business. Alex is the Director of Intramurals for VS next year so if you are interested don’t hesitate to stop stop him in the hall. Alex is also the climbing wall manager at Dedman Rec and a trip leader for Outdoor Adventures. His advice to freshman would be if you ever feel awkward or out of place, know that everyone around you is in the exact same situation. Be yourself and try to meet lots of people! His favorite VS tradition would have to be the midnight Mac's Place run from the SFL (Second Floor Lounge).

Katherine Delony

Secretary and Historian

Katherine is a rising sophomore triple majoring in Art History, English, and Education. She is from Fort Worth Texas and went to Paschal High School. On campus, she is the recruitment chair for Alpha Phi Omega, a member of Alpha Chi Omega, and a member of the homecoming committee for Student Foundation. Katherine has loved living in VS, it's where she’s met a lot of her best friends at SMU and it's the reason she’s involved in most of the organizations that she is. One thing she can promise you about VS, and the SMU community as a whole, is that your friends are not confined to the people in your year. Reach out to the upperclassmen because not only can they help you out, but they might also become your dearest friends. Lastly, if you're interested in any of my majors or need someone to edit your papers, don't hesitate to ask! She’s always looking for more friends who love books and more excuses to not do my own work.

Adam Pennings

Director of Programming

Adam is your Director of Programming. He is from the Dallas area, specifically Palmer, TX--a small town about 30 minutes south of Dallas way out in the country. He is a political science major and a public policy major, and is on track to be a finance major as well. He is really excited to be your Director of Programming because he had so much fun at all of the VS events like VieSta, the floor events, and Sunday Night Snacks. He cannot wait to see y'all out at all of these events next year, and if you ever need anything, you can normally find him in the Second Floor Lounge.

Olivia Grossklaus

Director of Spirit and Competitions

Olivia is a rising sophomore from Mesa, Arizona. She is studying biology and am a part of the women's swimming and diving team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes here at SMU.
